HYROX Training

Built the Carlisle Performance Way

HYROX requires more than conditioning. It demands running ability, strength, muscular endurance, work capacity, movement efficiency, and the ability to perform under fatigue.

At Carlisle Performance, those qualities are developed through the same process that guides everything we do: assess, prescribe, coach, measure, and adjust.

Every new HYROX client begins with the Carlisle Athletic Profile (CAP). Your assessment establishes your baseline and helps us determine whether HYROX Foundations or HYROX Competition is the appropriate starting point.

Two Training Tracks.
One Performance System.

Not everyone comes to HYROX with the same goal. Some want structured, challenging performance training. Others are preparing for race day. Your CAP and coach evaluation help determine the appropriate starting point.

HYROX Foundations

Your Foundation for HYROX Performance.

Carlisle Performance’s entry point for adults who want structured, coach-led hybrid training — whether or not a HYROX race is the goal. Training builds the aerobic capacity, strength endurance, and movement quality this style demands, progressing gradually rather than starting at race-level intensity.

Best for: adults new to HYROX, returning to structured training, or building a foundation before moving into Competition.

HYROX Competition

Prepare for the Specific Demands of Race Day.

HYROX Competition is designed for clients with an established training base who are preparing for an official HYROX event or pursuing a higher competitive standard. Training becomes increasingly race-specific, emphasizing pacing, running under fatigue, strength endurance, station efficiency, transitions, and race execution.

Competition isn’t simply a harder version of Foundations; it represents a progression toward greater race specificity.

Small-Group Coaching With Individualized Progressions

Both HYROX tracks are coached in small groups with a maximum 1:8 coach-to-client ratio.

Clients may share the same training objective for the session, while loads, pacing, exercise progressions, and coaching cues are adjusted based on ability and training status.

What We Train

Running Development

Build aerobic capacity, running efficiency, and the ability to maintain quality running under fatigue.

Strength & Strength Endurance

Develop the force and muscular endurance required for sleds, carries, lunges, and repeated station work.

HYROX Movement Technique

Learn efficient execution of SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmer’s carries, sandbag lunges, and wall balls.

Work
Capacity

Improve the ability to sustain and repeat demanding efforts.

Race Execution

Competition training integrates running, stations, pacing, and transitions to prepare clients for the specific demands of HYROX competition.

Strength Is the Foundation

HYROX is an endurance event, but endurance alone isn’t enough. Sled pushes, sled pulls, carries, lunges, and wall balls require strength and muscular endurance. Carlisle Performance develops strength alongside running and conditioning so clients aren’t simply learning to tolerate fatigue — they’re developing the physical qualities required to perform efficiently under it.

Start With the CAP

The CAP is required before starting either track and is a separate step from training itself — the per-session price doesn’t include it.

Recommended Training Frequency

Your training frequency is determined by your CAP results and Athlete Development Blueprint.

Start With the CAP

The CAP establishes your baseline. We use those results, your training history, and your goals to determine the appropriate starting point — HYROX Foundations or HYROX Competition — and build your Athlete Development Blueprint.

Have Questions? We Have Answers

Foundations develops the underlying strength, endurance, movement competency, and work capacity needed for HYROX-style training. Competition is designed for clients with an established training base and places greater emphasis on race-specific pacing, station execution, transitions, and performing under race demands.

No. HYROX Foundations doesn’t require prior HYROX experience or a race registration. The CAP and a coach evaluation help determine whether Foundations or Competition is the right starting point for you.

No. Foundations is for anyone who wants this style of training, regardless of race plans. Competition is for clients actively preparing for an official HYROX event or looking for a higher performance standard.

No. HYROX uses a maximum of 1 coach to 8 clients, specific to this program. Other Carlisle Performance indoor small-group programs use a maximum 1:4 coach-to-athlete ratio.
